Below, Bill Shipp Online compiles some rememberances and notable mentions of Hamilton Jordan on the occurance of his passing and from other times in the past.
From 1986's Washington Post, Winning Over Cancer:
The head of the medical team came in while I was eating dinner. "You
have a choice, Mr. Jordan, we can begin your chemo tomorrow or wait
until Monday."
"Tomorrow (Sept. 21) is your birthday," Dorothy said.
I had no intention of giving my body the weekend off while the cancer cells grew and spread.
"Let's get on with it," I said, trying to sound brave.
From Joe Klein's rememberance in Time Magazine:
His proudest accomplishment, he once told me with a smile, was reaching
out all the way to Macon for the entertainment for the Albany, Georgia,
High School prom--a fellow named Otis Redding, whom Jordan chaffeured
to and from the event.
